Both entities formalize an agreement to mitigate climate change through the promotion of sustainable mobility
Real Betis Balompié, through Forever Green – the sustainability platform that harnesses the power of sport to protect the planet – has reached a collaboration agreement with the company Ciclogreen to quantify and reduce the carbon footprint associated with the mobility of green and white employees. In line with the objectives set by the entity to offset its carbon emissions, this alliance takes the form of the 30 Days by Bike Challenge by Ciclogreen, the first action of the Green and White Club with the Sevillian start-up.
This challenge promotes sustainable mobility in companies in Europe and is being held from 1 to 30 April. Through this action, participants are encouraged to go to work or make the necessary internal trips during the working day by bicycle. The green-and-white club is ninth in the ranking of the 33 European companies that are participating in this challenge, already totalling 642 kilometres.
In the previous edition, 70 companies opted for sustainable mobility. In total, the more than 13,700 users travelled almost 167,000 kilometres, which resulted in a saving of more than 41,700 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere.
The calculation of the reduction of the carbon footprint during the month of April is one of the main advantages obtained by the participating companies and is 100% aligned with the sustainable objectives of the Green and White Club. According to José María Muro, co-founder of Ciclogreen, the 30 Days by Bike Challenge by Ciclogreen aims to “help those companies that want to promote a more active and healthy sustainable mobility at work”.
