The green platform promoted by Real Betis Balompié has been part of the Green Events Tools, where it has been told what Forever Green consists of and the great first steps that have been taken towards sustainability
Forever Green has participated today in the international summit on Climate Change (COP 26) that has been held in Glasgow (United Kingdom) since October 31 and ends tomorrow.
The sustainability platform promoted by Real Betis Balompié has been one of the speakers at the Green Event Tools, organized by the UNFCCC Secretariat (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) and the UN Environment Program together with the collaboration of the Gulf Organization for Research and Development (GORD).
During the event, a new web tool was presented to help plan more sustainable events, assess their sustainability and carbon footprint, which is developed by the UNFCCC, UN Environment, ICAO and GORD.
In this sense, Forever Green has explained how Real Betis Balompié is working so that its activity, including its sporting events, have the least possible impact on the environment.
In addition, the results of the Carbon Footprint Report for the last three seasons have been presented.
An achievement that positions the green-and-white Club at the first level of commitment and coherence in the fight against climate change.
Real Betis Balompié made a commitment in this regard in 2019 by joining UN Climate Change’s Climate Neutral Now programme.
An adhesion that made it the first LaLiga football club to join this initiative.
Two and a half years later, Real Betis, through Forever Green, has told COP 26 how it is acting in the measurement, reduction and compensation of its greenhouse gas emissions.
The person in charge of representing Forever Green at the Climate Summit was Rafael Muela, manager of the Real Betis Balompié Foundation and spokesperson for the sustainability platform.
In the previous edition, in November 2019, Ramón Alarcón presented the first steps that the green-and-white Club was taking to become the most sustainable club on the planet.
At the Climate Summit event, Rafael Muela was accompanied by Niclas Svenningsen O Ina Parvanova and Miguel Naranjo, from the UNFCCC secretariat, Hillary Green and Isabella Marras, from the UN Climate Change.
On the other hand, Dr. Youser Al Horr, Kishor Rajhansa, Amit Thusu and Wei Deng participated in this session from the GORD.
