The Real Betis Foundation and Forever Green join “Football for Climate Justice” and “Football Relies on EMAS and ECOLABEL to Keep Innovating on Circularity as a Key for Sustainability” (The FREE KICKS project).

We are pleased to announce our participation in two important European sustainability projects in football: “Football for Climate Justice” and “Football Relies on EMAS and ECOLABEL to Keep Innovating on Circularity as a Key for Sustainability” (The FREE KICKS project).

The “Football Relies on EMAS and ECOLABEL to Keep Innovating on Circularity as a Key for Sustainability (FREE KICKS)” project is coordinated by the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (SSSA) and has the collaboration of FC Porto, the Real Betis Balompié Foundation, Malmö FF, Racing Club, the Romanian Football Federation, the European Club Association (ECA), and Sport Positive. This project will address issues related to circular economy and environmental sustainability in football organizations. FREE KICKS aims to promote the adoption of advanced environmental management practices and sustainable organizational models among national football associations and professional clubs, focusing on operational activities and promoting climate-friendly and environmentally respectful behavioral patterns among football organizations.

On the other hand, “Football for Climate Justice” is an innovative project that brings together European clubs, associations, and football experts to address one of the greatest challenges of our time: the climate crisis.

This project aims to create practical solutions that reduce the football’s carbon footprint while improving the lives of fans and their local communities.

Through this initiative, we are building a powerful network of clubs and football associations committed to combating climate change.

At Forever Green, we believe in the power of sport to inspire positive change, and we are delighted to be part of these projects promoting sustainability and climate justice in European football. We will continue to work in collaboration with our partners to drive concrete actions that contribute to a greener and more sustainable future for all.
