Seville once again became the epicenter of world soccer with the eighth edition of the World Football Summit Europe 2024, an event that brought together more than 2,500 professionals from the sports industry.
Among the prominent figures, Forever Green and Real Betis Balompié have played a key role in the global conversation about sustainability in soccer, reaffirming their commitment to the future of sport and the planet.

During the event, Rocío Ruiz Berdejo, head of Forever Green, gave an important presentation on “Sustainability, Sport and Tourism”, where she highlighted how soccer can become a key tool to promote respect for the environment and sustainable development.
His intervention made it clear that the Forever Green project is not only a reference at a local level, but also a model to be followed by clubs and sports organizations around the world.

On the other hand, Rafael Muela, manager of the Real Betis Balompié Foundation, was part of the round table “Greening the Game: Sport Sustainability Initiatives Take Centre Stage”.
During this panel, various global initiatives that seek to transform sport into a more sustainable platform were explored.
Muela highlighted the active role that Real Betis has taken, not only on the field, but also off it, leading actions that have a direct impact on the fight against climate change and the protection of the environment.

The World Football Summit has been an exceptional opportunity for Real Betis and Forever Green to share their innovative initiatives and learn from other industry leaders.
In a world where soccer represents 1.44% of GDP in Andalusia and continues to grow globally, sustainability is not only a priority, but a responsibility.
Forever Green, Real Betis’ sustainability platform, continues to demonstrate that it is possible to promote sport while respecting the planet, and this event was a great example of that.

From Forever Green we continue working every day to build a greener and more sustainable future, because we know that soccer can and should be an engine of positive change.
The future of sport is green!
