Rafael Muela, the manager of the Real Betis Foundation, has been responsible for presenting the work that the green-and-white club has been doing for the past two years through the Forever Green sustainability platform in the panel dedicated to discussing sustainability in sports. Real Betis shared the stage in this session with Rakuten’s Global Sponsorships Director, Yuki Oko, and Wimbledon’s Sustainability Director, Hattie Park.
The Kosmos Sports Summit addresses trends and developments in the sports industry. This third edition was held at the Picasso Museum in Malaga and featured a total of 13 speakers from various entities in the sector.
Forever Green has just celebrated two years of working in the fight against climate change, an effort that has made the organization one of the most environmentally committed football clubs in the world and the most sustainable team in LaLiga according to a study by Holaluz. Since the inception of Forever Green, 88 actions have been developed, such as clean-ups of natural spaces, the installation of a fleet of scooters and electric bicycles for club employees, as well as promoting their use by fans through discounts and recycling and awareness campaigns. Forever Green has gained worldwide recognition, reaching 598 million people and reaching 75 countries. The Betis environmental program has been featured in 195 media outlets.
