325 trees were planted in this action framed within the Forever Green program.
Herbalife Nutrition, a company specialising in nutrition firmly committed to the sustainability of the planet, has joined the “Forever Green” project promoted by Real Betis Balompié, a team of which it is a sponsor.
Under this agreement, on November 16, 25 employees of the company created the “Herbalife Nutrition Forest – Forever Green” through the reforestation of an extension of forest in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid).
The event was attended by the president of the Real Betis Foundation and director of Institutional Relations of the Club, Rafael Gordillo.
Herbalife Nutrition employees planted 356 trees (wild rose, blackberry, tarai, hawthorn, elderberry, elm, ash, white poplar, holm oak, cork oak and gall oak) in a riparian forest that had lost its forest ecosystem due to climate change and drought.
With this action, Herbalife Nutrition contributes to the recovery of the forest mass in the area with new native species, in addition to regulating and balancing the climate, generating oxygen and counteracting CO2 emissions.
Within the framework of its responsible company strategy and its environmental management policies, the company contributes to the care of biodiversity and the fight against climate change.
Herbalife Nutrition will periodically monitor the state of the forest and during the first three years maintenance and replacement actions will be carried out.
Bosquia, a social enterprise in charge of carrying out CSR and teamwork projects through the planting of native trees, will review and replace the trees that have not managed to move forward annually.
“With our participation in the Forever Green initiative together with Real Betis, we reinforce our environmental commitment to the planet and to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as we are committed to a reforestation project that involves the reduction of part of the CO2 in the atmosphere,” says Tara López, CEO of Herbalife Nutrition.
The event was attended by the president of the Real Betis Foundation and director of Institutional Relations of the green and white club, Rafael Gordillo.
This activity is part of the various activities that Herbalife Nutrition has been carrying out in recent years under the slogan “Nourishing people and the planet”.
