The Real Betis Foundation has joined for the second time this initiative that promotes the use of sustainable transport

Real Betis Balompié and Forever Green, through their Foundation, have joined the European Mobility Week (SEM) 2021, which started on September 16 and will end on the 22nd.

The European Mobility Week, of which the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge is the national coordinator, is a campaign aimed at raising awareness about the negative consequences of irrational car use in the city, both for public health and for the environment, and the benefits of using more sustainable modes of transport such as public transport, cycling and walking.

Among the actions that Real Betis Balompié will launch during this Week is the agreement with Moovit, a leading company in Mobility as a Service and the most used urban mobility App in the world. Both entities are helping fans travel by public transport to Real Betis Balompié home matches, offering a multimodal planner that allows them to obtain the fastest and most sustainable way to get to the Benito Villamarín Stadium. This service debuted yesterday in the match against Glasgow Celtic and will be offered again next Sunday in the match against Espanyol.

Since the birth of the Forever Green platform, the green-and-white entity has promoted sustainable mobility by making a fleet of electric scooters available to its employees to help achieve the goal of zero emissions. In addition, an area has been set up for charging these electric vehicles at the Benito Villamarín Stadium and at the Luis del Sol Sports City. This measure has saved an estimated 8,400 car trips and has saved an approximate emission of 560 kilograms of CO2 into the atmosphere. Forever Green scooters were also made available to workers at the Spanish headquarters – located in Seville – of UEFA EURO 2020 at the Olympic Stadium.

Forever Green has also participated in Ciclogreen’s ’30 Days by Bike Challenge’. This action encouraged Real Betis Balompié employees to go to work by bicycle. In total, the green and white workers traveled 2,106 kilometers in this sustainable and healthy transport, achieving savings in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere of 0.2 tons.

All these measures will be progressively extended to the fans as well with the return of the public to the Stadium. Forever Green is working to find effective measures to promote this more sustainable mobility for the fans who come every week to cheer on Real Betis Balompié and its sections.
