Real Betis is the most sustainable soccer team in La Liga for its actions committed to the environment, according to a study prepared by the company Holaluz.
To prepare the ranking, this entity has analyzed the waste management, awareness campaigns, carbon footprint reduction, partnerships with environmentally friendly companies and the responsible use of energy of each of the clubs and has evaluated each criterion with a color system.
Real Betis leads the final ranking by achieving the highest score in four of the five indicators in the report, followed by other teams such as Athletic Club de Bilbao, FC Barcelona, Getafe and Real Madrid, while the worst placed teams are Alavés, Espanyol, Granada, Mallorca and Rayo Vallecano.
The Green and White Club stands out for its ‘Forever Green’ project, which promotes ecological initiatives such as reforestation, urban gardens or a sustainable equipment made of 100% recycled polyester, as well as its adhesion to the United Nations’ ‘Climate Neutral Now’ campaign, among other initiatives.
