Directors of Real Betis and AS Roma planted a tree as a symbol of collaboration between the two clubs in terms of environmental sustainability.
In addition, Forever Green was presented together with Sevilla City Office at the Liceo Cervantes and sustainable mobility among green and white fans in the Italian capital has been promoted together with Moovit.
On the day before the UEFA Europa League first leg between AS Roma and Real Betis, the Villa Mazzanti green space hosted the symbolic planting of a tree to seal the collaboration agreement between the two entities.
This event, organized with the support of Roma Natura, is a symbol of the collaboration between two clubs that share the same values of environmental protection and social commitment.
In this way, the Europa League match to be held tomorrow will be a showcase for this commitment to sustainability.
AS Roma will be the first team to collaborate with UEFA to pilot key aspects of the Football Sustainability Strategy 2030 and have already been involved in similar initiatives such as the UEFA Conference League final against Feyenoord.
Presentation of Forever Green and Seville in Rome
Another of the actions carried out by Real Betis in Rome has been the meeting with Spanish and Italian media to present the Forever Green program.
This event, organized by the green-and-white club and Sevilla City Office, was held at the Liceo Español Cervantes and has served Real Betis to make visible the projects of companies committed to the future of the planet.
Real Betis finds in Sevilla City Office the perfect partner whose priority is to advance in the construction of sustainable tourism through synergies with different public and private entities.
Sustainable mobility in Rome with Moovit
On the other hand, Real Betis together with its sustainable mobility partner Moovit – Intel company, a leading provider of Mobility as a Service solutions and the most used urban mobility app in the world – has encouraged its fans to use this tool for Betis fans travelling to Rome.
Through this app, Real Betis and Moovit seek to improve the travel of fans to UEFA Europa League matches.
The purpose of this collaboration is to facilitate and promote sustainable mobility in travel to matches by combining all possible options, either by collective public transport or through any micromobility alternative such as public or private bicycles, scooters or on foot.
Fans will receive turn-by-turn instructions to fans attending Betis matches, whether playing at home or away.
More pre-match actions with AS Roma
Some of the activities planned for the first leg are the creation of a menu with a low environmental impact, the collection and redistribution of surplus food by the provincial ACLI of Rome to combat food waste, and the creation of a work of art with recyclable waste in the hospitality area.
There will also be a strong emphasis on the issues of inclusion and accessibility.
Disabled fans will have the help of the Civil Protection of Arvalia to reach the Olympic Stadium.
AS Roma will also provide blind fans with radios and headphones to follow the match.
Real Betis and AS Roma are keen to challenge each other on the pitch, but they are taking the opportunity of this European challenge to renew their commitment to raising awareness of environmental and social issues in the football ecosystem.
