Real Betis travels to Ibiza to support the conservation and restoration of coral populations and Posidonia seagrass meadows in the Mediterranean.

Real Betis – represented by Rafael Gordillo, president of the Foundation, and Rafael Muela, manager of the green-and-white entity – has traveled this week to Ibiza to participate in a fruit collection action, which will serve as seeds to restore the Posidonia meadow of Puig des Molins and to share the mission of the Forever Green project during the Regenerative Culture, Tourism, and Sustainability forum held this week on the island.

This action has been the first of those that Real Betis, Eleven, and the Blue Life Foundation will launch together within the collaboration agreement signed between the three entities, which aims to promote, through sports, regenerative culture and biodiversity protection.

The agreement signed between the Real Betis Balompié Foundation – through its Forever Green sustainability platform -, Eleven, and the Blue Life Foundation, has an initial duration of four years and includes actions for the conservation and restoration of the marine environment, especially coral populations and Posidonia oceanica meadows in the Mediterranean, participation in the Plogging Tour, the first sports and ecology tour in Europe that visits several Spanish cities, and a Plogging event “Do Sports for the Planet” to be held on September 30, 2023, in the city of Seville with the collaboration of the Seville City Council, the IMD, sports clubs, and local entities.

Oscar Caro, president of the Blue Life Foundation and CEO of Eleven, points out that: “We are very excited about this alliance and what it represents for the parties. Actively reinforcing, once again, the power of sports and in this case football, to contribute to improving the quality of life of people, restoring ecosystems to protect the planet, and raising awareness of regenerative culture among society and entities.”

The green-and-white club, through Forever Green, allies with Eleven and the Blue Life Foundation with the mission of strengthening its green identity and leadership in the fight against climate change and the protection of the planet, being a benchmark sustainability platform for companies and organizations that want to use the football’s disseminating power to protect the planet.
