Caixaforum Barcelona hosted this event that brought together experts from the sports industry and the business world to discuss the sector’s commitment to the environment. In addition, during the Gala, the second edition of the Forever Green awards was presented.

On June 5, Real Betis, through its Forever Green environmental program, held the
second Forever Green Gala
at the Caixaforum in Barcelona. This event highlights sport’s commitment to the fight against climate change and addresses the challenges of organising sustainable sporting events.

The Gala, hosted by
Juan Amodeo
and
Eugenia Karolyi
, began with the intervention of
Hugo Morán
, Secretary of State for the Environment. Various round tables and presentations were held with experts and representatives of companies linked to sport, such as
CaixaBank, Volvo Cars Spain and the Barcelona Tennis Club
. Participants shared their initiatives to reduce environmental impact.

Among the protagonists,
Xanty Elías
, chef of Finca Alfoliz, spoke about his organic restaurant;
Manuel Parga
of the COE presented the Sustainability Manifesto; and
Nicole van der Velden
of Sail GP explained the Impact League. Forever Green’s media partners were also recognized for their support.


UEFA’s Filippo Veglio
presented his sustainability efforts during sporting events, and
CSIC’s Juan Luis Ramos
provided a scientific view on climate change. P
almira Cardo de Mayumana
performed an interaction with the audience as a prelude to the closing show.

During the Gala, the Forever Green Awards were presented, highlighting initiatives and commitments in sustainability. Awardees included
Project Kune, Moda Re, the Spanish Water Polo League, Morten Thorsby’s We Play for Green, Bodegas Torres, Paula Ulargui Escalona and Ecoadvance
.


Ramón Alarcón
, CEO of Real Betis, closed the event by thanking all the participants and reviewing the achievements of the Forever Green platform in its three years of existence. The closing ceremony was in charge of Mayumana, who conveyed their message of sustainability through their show.
