The Luis del Sol Sports City has a new solar plant that covers 100% of the electricity consumption of the facilities.
This improvement in energy efficiency is part of the commitment that the Green and White Club has with the environment through its green platform Forever Green.
One more step towards environmental sustainability that has been possible thanks to the installation carried out by the electricity retailer Eternal Energy, the main sponsor of Real Betis Féminas.
One of the outstanding milestones of the project is that with the surplus production generated by the plant, the first Baetic Solar Community will be created, so that this energy will be available to those who wish to contract it.
Real Betis members who join Eternal Energy will benefit from a discount to reduce their electricity bill, also having the guarantee of traceability of 100% sustainable energy production thanks to blockchain technology.
With this, the members of the Green and White Club will be able to contribute to the sustainability movement promoted by the Forever Green platform and align themselves with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the strategies of the 2030 Agenda established by the UN, in terms of reducing conventional energy consumption and the commitment to the use of non-polluting sources. since the solar plant of the Sports City will prevent the annual emission of more than 246 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
For her part, the CEO of Eternal Energy, Cristina Vicente, stresses that with this project “we take a very important step in our relationship with Real Betis and its Forever Green platform”, while stressing that it is “a totally new initiative in Seville, since we are going to create the first energy community in the city promoted by the private sector. In other words, we are going to produce and market energy for our own use, individually or collectively, and in the same place where it is generated, with 100% green certification of origin.”
The solar plant, which will be inaugurated with an institutional ceremony at the beginning of the next sports season, is located on the rooftops and roofs of the stands of the Luis del Sol Sports City and will cover all the electricity consumption of the complex.
In total, 668 SUNO CT panels of 325 Wp and 592 SUNO UL panels of 310 Wp ultra-light have been installed, adding up to a total power of 401 kWp and an annual production capacity of 616 MWh.
Likewise, thanks to this equipment, the annual emission of 246.4 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere will be avoided, a figure that would be equivalent to planting 1,475 trees.
