The LaLiga FOUNDATION held this Thursday the third and final webinar session of the “Fair Play Social Alliances” cycle, a training action framed in the Fair Play Social project, developed by LaLiga through its Foundation, which is committed to sharing knowledge and promoting alliances between clubs and foundations, promoting the capacity for transformation and adaptation of policies, strategies and projects of social responsibility to the current delicate economic situation, as well as to maintain and stimulate cooperation between the LaLiga FOUNDATION and the clubs and foundations of LaLiga.
If the first of the sessions focused on good sustainability practices in football and other industries, and in the second of them the common thread was communication with external and internal actors in the field of Social Responsibility, on this occasion the central theme of the day has been the management of environmental performance.
In this training, held online, issues such as the management, measurement and reporting of the environmental impact of organizations in a social, legal and historical context marked by the effects of climate change have been discussed.
Likewise, various specific experiences of environmental management have been presented through the testimony of several LaLiga clubs and foundations.
The first of the three parts into which this day has been divided has had the participation of several LaLiga clubs to explain the vision of the football industry regarding the theme of the day.
In a colloquium of good practices, Rafael Muela Pastor, manager of the Real Betis Balompié Foundation; and María José Herbón Prada, corporate director of the Financial, Administration and HR Area of Real Club Celta de Vigo have addressed how they are managing their environmental performance, through different approaches that share in any case the commitment to minimise environmental impact and report the results among their actors.
This was followed by a space dedicated to learning about some examples and experiences of how other industries outside football are working in this area. Fernando Arlandis Pérez, Deputy Director of Studies and Programmes at Canal de Isabel II, who discussed the keys to a correct approach and maximum impact of campaigns to disseminate the responsible use of water, practical examples of circular economy, or ways of reusing water.
Finally, to close this cycle of “Fair Play Social Alliances” attended by more than 50 professionals from the sector, an interview took place with Rodrigo Gómez Sánchez, manager of Sustainability and Climate Change at Auren Spain, who explained the keys to the implementation of an adequate environmental sustainability strategy. challenges of the future European corporate reporting regulations, among other aspects.
The “Fair Play Social Alliances” cycle is aimed at managers, managers and staff of clubs and foundations linked to the management of everything related to Social Responsibility and sustainability.
Likewise, and in general, it is also aimed at those interested in deepening the knowledge, good practices and experiences related to these matters.
