About 500 participants attended the summit near the Louvre Museum in Paris on Thursday championed by French President Emmanuel Macron and International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach.
World and business leaders have pledged billions of dollars in funding and pledged to support various sports initiatives aimed at accelerating sustainable development, a day before the official opening of the Olympic Games.
Around 500 participants, including 50 heads of state and government, attended the summit led by French President Emmanuel Macron and International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach in Paris on Thursday.
“It is the synergy of our actions and everything we can do together with the sports movement that is absolutely essential,” Macron said.
“The Games are a way to shine a light on what we are doing and launch new initiatives and thank you to all the donations that have been mobilized for the continents of Africa, Latin America and the Pacific and I thank you for the daily commitment in this direction.”
